Since opening in October 2013, Herbs And Spices restaurant has focused on delivering high quality hands-on cooking classes in our unique open kitchen environment. Herbs And Spices is unlike any other restaurant or cooking class that you will find in Hoi An. What makes us different from the competition?

We have invested experience, time, money and resources into running and operating Hoi An’s only specialist cooking classes. Storing and handling food is done to meet the highest of standards and our classes are set up daily using the freshest of ingredients. Our open kitchen is professionally equipped with large storage fridges, freezers, our very own filtered ice making machine and professional gas ovens and burners. Perfect for grilling and creating fantastic meals, our large stainless steel charcoal and gas fed barbecue is the centre piece of our cooking classes.

We specialize in small group cooking classes, our business is cooking classes and we cater to suit all levels of skill, age and experience, offering a hands-on approach to cooking. Our team of professionals are dedicated, passionate and focused on delivering a high standard of customer service with a smile.

Trainee chefs are encouraged to participate in all aspects of each cooking class. Working from spacious central benches you will learn everything from food preparation skills, safe kitchen practice and dish presentation, guided every step of the way by our English speaking chef, owner and restaurateur Son Tran.

Classes are kept small and during teaching sessions our restaurant does not allow public dining. We do this to allow for one-on-one guidance and interaction with your group. For professional chefs, cooks and restaurateurs we provide closed classes concentrating on more complex dishes, providing you with the skills to recreate some of Vietnam’s most famous dishes to restaurant standards. For passionate home cooks our classes offer an environment among like minded foodies, from market to table you’ll be professionally guided and provided with the instructions, techniques and recipes to recreate your new menus back home.
